So I was lucky enough to see Tusk a week early. Sometimes life gives you nice little treats. As I said in my last Blog I have been having the best week of my life and this just added to that. I've been a die hard Kevin Smith fan for years. A movie I wrote is even based off of a crazy adventure I had after seeing the Red State tour in Austin. So believe me, I love Kevin Smith.
When I first heard the episode of Smodcast where this movie was dreamed up I tweeted #walrusyes. How could I not? A movie about a man being turned into a Walrus? That is so insane that it might just work. And it did! I loved it! It didn't feel like a View Askew movie, but neither did Red State. It was it's own beast and darker than I ever thought Kevin Smith could go. When the movie ended my friend left but I couldn't. I was in shock and awe and I'll admit sad and horrified. I wanted to scream at the screen. I never in a million years would have thought he would take it where he did and I'm glad he did. It was a weird creepy little masterpiece and that is truly one at a kind! There is so much I want to say but seeing as the movie isn't out yet I'll hold my tongue. Needless to say I'm excited for the rest of the Great White North Trilogy. Everyone should check out Tusk when it hits theaters next Friday, I know I'm going again!
