My friend called me up out of the blue and told me he had free tickets to the new Mark Ruffalo film, now I have heard nothing about this movie but being a fan of his, and a fan of free I said I would go. We printed out the tickets got in the car and went to the movie.
After a little mix up at the box office we went and took our seats. I had no idea what to expect, no idea even what it was about. That being said I was in the second the movie started. Ruffalo played a down on his luck Music producer who finds recently dumped Keira Knightley in a dive bar and hears her sing. He is taken away by her talent and together they help each other move on from the past. This movie spoke to me on so many levels. Of late I have been wondering if I'm cut out for film. If I can keep going down this path that I am on. It seems like every move I make takes me the wrong way and the magic it once had has been lost along the way. At its core that is what this movie is all about. Finding the magic in art again once it is lost. Finding the joy and wonderment in the world and in your own creativity once it is corrupted and warped into something perverse. It was the perfect movie, shown to me at the perfect time to have a huge impact on my life. I can't promise that it will have the same effect on you, but I honestly believe it is worth a watch. So go watch it! Now!
