One of the most important episodes of season one written by Rick Berman, Brannon Braga & Fred Dekker setting up not only the rest of this show but the universe we all know and love. The opening sees a Vulcan monastery being taken over by a group of Andrians lead by Thy'lek Shran, an important character that will come back time and time again.
Tucker and Archer tell T'Pol they want to visit the monastery that was just taken over. She is against it at first but Archer over rules her. Phlox points out to T'Pol that Vulcans and humans are not that different. Something that she doesn't much care to hear. We learn that the Vulcans here don't have technology so the Enterprise is showing up unannounced. There are a great many rules for dealing with them but Archer and Trip decide that it is worth it. The Vulcans pretend like nothing is wrong but T'Pol notices that things seem to be out of place. She has a sharp eye. Archer doesn't accept the goodbye gift and starts walking around looking for clues. The Vulcan looks annoyed, something that is a weird fit on Vulcans. Archer sees the Andorian hiding, he points him out to Trip. The two of them attack the man and take his phaser from him. Too bad their are more of them. Now Trip, Archer and T'Pol are prisoners as well. It seems the Andorian's have never heard of Earth or Humans before. Shran doesn't trust Archer or the others. He makes a claim that this monastery is really a surveillance planet that is being used to spy on them. The three of them think that they are crazy and trust the Vulcans. That is a mistake if I ever heard one. It seems that the Vulcans and the Andorians don't like each other. There is a treaty in place but the Andorians believe that the Vulcans are breaking it by spying on them and that is why they are here. The Vulcans think that they will just leave when they don't find anything. They tell Archer that him showing up has only made things worse. The Enterprise is in orbit and Reed finds out that another ship is in orbit. He is also starting to worry about the fact that the crew hasn't called in yet. He starts talking about what should be standard procedure for Earth ships. Something that will come to pass. Archer keeps trying to tell Shran that he doesn't work for the Vulcans but he doesn't want to hear it. Instead he keeps beating the captain up. Shran calls the Enterprise and tells them that the captain is their prisoner he then breaks the communicator. Breaks all of them. Reed orders a shuttle-pod to be made ready, despite the fact that he was told doing that would mean the death of his 3 superior officers. Archer tells the Vulcans that if they can't call the ship soon than Reed will storm the planet. The Vulcans tell him that there is an old transmitter below them. It might be able to call the ship. Things are starting to look fishy with these guys if I do say so myself!!! Trip goes down below to try and get it working so they can call the ship to tell Reed to stay put. Trip finds an even deeper passageway but the Vulcans take him away from that to an old transmitter. The Andorians come to check in on them in the middle of the night but lucky Trip and his guide make it back in time. Archer wants to have a team teleport in but T'Pol points out the fault in the logic. The two of them get into an argument about it. We see a bit more of Archer's dislike for Vulcans shine through. Trip calls into the ship and tells the crew what the situation is like on the planet. He tells them to sit tight. Trip tells them there is stairs leading down the old room but the Vulcans say that it is blasphemy to go down there. The Andorians are starting to think this is all a waste of time but Shran is holding his ground. He is sure something is here he just has to find it. Archer tells him he needs to speak to him alone, he has information for them. Archer starts talking about nothing to buy time. The Andorians want none of it. He gets a tiny figure and manages to drop it in the mouth formed into the wall to see if it leads to the back rooms that Tucker found. Trip finds the figure, their plan can work! Reed leads a team onto the teleporter and beam down to the planet. The Andorians detect it but see no signs of anything. T'Pol tries to play it off but Shran is having none of it. He leaves his men behind to watch them. Reed gets his team in place. The Andorians detect more humans on the planet but before they can find out where they are Reed makes his move. One of the Andorians keeps hitting on T'Pol but Archer puts a stop to it. Archer and Trip take out the Andorian guarding them while Reed takes out the rest. Shran and a few others escape into the tunnels. The Vulcans blame Archer for everything that happened. Telling him that this is a place of peace and that violence is not welcome there. The Andorians go into a room that the Vulcan who goes with them won't let them go into. Archer goes anyways. A firefight starts out in the middle of all the stuff that the Vulcans were worried about destroying. That is when Reed spots a mechanical door and Archer goes to open it. He yells for a cease fire and calls Shran over. It turns out the man was correct. The Vulcans have been using this location to spy on the Andorians this whole time. T'Pol is in shock, Archer orders her to take all the images he can but the Vulcan threatens to shoot Archer. He doesn't stay conscious for long. Archer orders T'Pol to give it to Shran. He then tells the Enterprise to let them go. Archer is not happy with the Vulcans right now and the Andorians are now in his debt. T'Pol feels a great sense of shame in her people, you can see it all over her face. She didn't think her government was capable of something like this and it hurts her to learn the truth. Such a great episode that leads to so many great things. And Shran is such a great character, I always enjoy it when he shows up.

Welcome to the Frankenstein episode of Buffy written by Ty King. The episode starts off with a morbid tale of Angel waking up buried alive. He lets onto Buffy that he is jealous of Xander, he says he isn't but it is clear as day that he is. Their argument is interrupted by the vampire that Buffy came to slay. And slay she does. The second he is dust the fight starts back. Angel storms off and Buffy goes after him falling into an open grave. Angel says another vampire has risen. Now, as stated above, Angel dug his way out of a grave. Wouldn't he know how a grave that a vampire escaped from would look? Why is Buffy the one to figure out that some one dug it up and dragged the body away. Angel, as a vampire should have picked up on that.
The next day Buffy and Xander walk in on Giles asking a chair out. They give Giles a really hard time about liking Jenny, it's pretty funny. And jealous Xander from season one pops up once again. Oh how I missed him! It is nice to see that Xander and Angel are both jealous of each other. Willow is asked to check out some girls legs by her friend Chris's weird friend. She says no thank you, in a few years she would prolly be a lot more ok with it. Cordy reluctantly signs up for the science fair for extra credit. Chris and his friend talk about Cordy being perfect but Chris says that she doesn't work because she is alive. In the library we learn that Cordy had something going on with Chris's older brother. We also learn that the girl who was dug up was one of 3 girls who died in a car crash. They invite Cordy to help dig up the other graves to see if they were all stolen to become zombies but she says no. It was almost her entrance into the Scooby Gang but alas she turned it down. At the graves Giles and Xander dig up the graves while Buffy and Willow gossip. Now Buffy is the strongest one there, couldn't she help out a bit? But we learn some important information during this scene. We learn that Chris's older brother was died. Buffy jumps down and opens the coffin. Back at school someone or something is following Cordy. She gets freaked out. She runs for her car and blames Xander like he would waste his time stalking her. She drops her keys and sees someone coming towards her, she takes off running and hides in a dumpster. It turns out it was Angel. He is hurt that Buffy is at the graveyard and not at home, but that is changed when Cordy starts screaming. The Scoobies come into the library where they see Cordy and Angel waiting. We learn all 3 girls bodies are missing. Turns out that parts of the bodies are in the dumpster that Cordy was hiding in. It throws out all the ideas they have. Buffy suspects that it was a student but Angel says that it looked like a professional. Willow says a couple of the people at school could do it. Xander and Cordy have playful banter that sets up their romance just perfectly. Angel talks Cordy home, setting up their romance beautifully. Although we have to wait years and years for that. Chris leaves his house where his mom is just sitting watching old home videos of his brother playing football. How sad. You can't help but feel bad for Chris. The Scoobies look throw the lockers and figure out that Chris and his friend are behind all of this. We jump to a lab where the two of them are putting a woman's body together. The friend has pictures of Buffy, Willow and Cordy. He wants to use one of them to finish the project. The trio of Scoobies walk up on Giles as he waits all awkward on Jenny. Buffy gives some advice before they take off leaving Giles alone. He tries to ask her out but can't seem to spit it out. She interrupts him that she has to go to class. She then darts back out and invites him to the football game that night. He says yes. She even asks him out to Mexican food, the same thing Buffy told Giles to ask her out to. It's very sweet. I like Giles in love. Everyone should find love in their lives. Uh where is mine? The Scoobies find out that Chris and his friend are still missing a head. They need to find a fresh corpse or kill one. Meanwhile Chris's friend tells him that if they don't find a head soon they will lose the body. Chris doesn't want to kill anyone but his friend keeps pushing it. We then learn that this girl isn't for them, it is for Chris's brother, you know the dead one? Yeah they brought him back to life. He talks Chris into agreeing to kill a girl. The man picks Cordy, after all they did use to date. Giles takes off before helping the Scooby Gang so that he can go meet up with Jenny for their date. Buffy goes to Chris's house to look for him and finds only his mother watching the tapes still. The mother could care less about Chris. She only has eyes for her dead son. Buffy starts to feel bad for Chris, something that she didn't feel a few moments before. Buffy goes downstairs and finds the plans showing Cordy's head on the body. She is almost attacked by the monster but she leaves before he can get her. At school before the big game Chris and his friend kidnap Cordy. Buffy finds Cordy and saves her from Chris's friend. Cordy runs off to go cheer, leaving Buffy alone. She hears someone in the locker room. She goes looking for him and tries to talk Chris out of this. Chris starts to tell her why he is doing this, at first she thinks he is talking about his friend but she soon figures out that he brought his brother back. His brother goes crazy when the friend tells him what happened. Chris and Buffy find out that the brother has left the house. They run back to school, fearing the worst. Meanwhile Giles insults football to Jenny, not meaning any offense and she asks if that is how he handles every first date. He is excited to learn it is a date. Willow and Xander sit with them and Giles is beyond annoyed. Jenny finds it a bit funny. Cordy wakes up just in time to see the brother and friend getting ready to cut off her head and put it on the other body. Chris caves in and tells Buffy where they are. She sends him to get Willow and Xander while she goes to save Cordy. Cordy tells the brother she will date him anyways. She doesn't need the other body. He tells her that he needs her to be a freak like him so that she will stay loyal to him. Buffy shows up just in time. A fight breaks out, during which gas falls everywhere. As the fire spreads and the fight kicks into high gear Xander shows up and frees Cordy. Giles and Willow get Chris's friend out of the lab. Chris shows up and yells for his brother to stop. He lets go of Buffy and runs into the fire to be with the body they made for his wife. Angel shows up at the end of everything, not able to do a damn thing because he was late!!! Jenny asks Giles out on a second date. I'm happy for them! Meanwhile Xander tells Willow that he will never find a girl to date, Cordy picks this moment to walk up to him and try and thank him. He insults her and sends her away. It was almost the start of their relationship. A relationship that I am a big big fan of. I loved the two of them together. In the graveyard Angel and Buffy talk about their relationship and what it could be. It is a sweet ending to a crazy episode that couldn't be more Frankenstein if it tried. Right down to the fire. It's perfect. Now let's all get some rest so we can get to tomorrow's episode! Because . . . . Spike!!!!!!!!!! So why would Fox push the second episode of season 2 to episode 6? Who knows! Anyways the episode that is supposed to be episode 2 is Time again and world written by Jacob Epstein.
The episode starts off with Arturo and Remy drinking in a bar about to miss the slide. They head outside to find a private place to slide. On the way they see a car crash, followed by a shoot out. Now on this world all the women have mustaches. Very weird, anyways Wade runs up to the man who falls out of the car and is dying. He gives Wade a code word and a chip to hold on to. Quinn pulls her up and they rush to catch up to Remy and Arturo who opens the vortex. Wade makes it in just in time. Arturo tells Wade not to become emotionally invested in the world's they land on. Now what I don't get, why would he even bring that up? We know that this world is basically the same just a few hours behind but they don't know that yet. They have 36 hours on this world that is all but the same as the last except that the women look more like we know them to. Hairless faces. The same car crash and shoot out as before, only this time the person who was killed on the last world does the killing. Once more Wade runs up to the man who is shot just like before. This man happens to be a cop. The sliders once more go to their normal hotel run by the same guy on every world. The hotel makes them give finger prints before checking in. I don't know if I'd be ok with that. The hotel operator immediately calls someone to report the sliders. Wade keeps beating herself up over what happened when two people with guns burst in and tells them that they all need to forget everything that happened earlier. No matter what the police asks they have to pretend nothing happened. They will be watching them. Remy and Arturo want to run out to the country but Wade wants to stay. After all both men who died on both worlds told her the same name. Quinn ends up going with Arturo and Remy leaving Wade alone. But only for a few seconds before coming back to help her. After all they can't leave one of their own behind. Wade tells the cop, who all wear skirts because why not. I guess they are Scottish on this world. The police take down everything she tells them and get ready to go arrest the person she told them about. The two people who broke into their hotel room are cops, Quinn and Wade spot them in the police station but it doesn't look like they saw our heroes. The hotel manager gets arrested, things aren't looking good for the sliders. Once more Remy wants to run. Wade wants to try and figure out what is on the chip but Quinn points out that it is from another world. It turns out that the man they turned into the police is one of the last people who wants the Constitution to be the law of the land. On this world and most likely the last, J. Edgar Hoover became President and declared Martial Law. It also turns out that this world has the same CD formats as the last world. Wade and Quinn manage to open the file and find a digital copy of the US Constitution. Remy references his group and it tips off the store manager that they are not supposed to be there. He takes off like a bat out of hell. Now the sliders are looking for the supreme court judge that they sold out to the police to try and set things right. I hate to say it but if Wade just listened to Arturo they wouldn't have to be going through all of this. The sliders are having no luck finding him. They find out about a pirate radio and a woman named Natalie. Quinn tells her about the police and knowing about the judge and shows her the chip he has. She tells him to put it away and to follow her. It turns out that the Judge is about to surrender and read the constitution on the air. Before that happens the police storm the club. Everything starts to fall apart. The sliders and Natalie escape out the back and take off. The judge is arrested. The hope for democracy in America is dead. The sliders have 8 hours left. Remy and Arturo have no idea where Quinn or Wade are and they are getting worried. Quinn and wade show up and feel the two of them in on what happened. They come up with a plan, Remy shows up at the police station and tells the cops he wants the Judge to be set free with a pardon or they will go live with the constitution. They try to keep Remy in jail but he tells them that if his friends don't hear from it they will leak it on the internet. Later that night they show up ready to exchange the only copy of the constitution for the judge's freedom. Arturo is against it but Quinn points out that good ideas are useless with out good men to fight for them. Arturo counters by telling him that the idea of freedom is repeated every generation but only one ever came up with the constitution and had the impact on the world that the US did. The cops show up with the judge. Now my question is, once they have the disk what is to stop them from killing them all. Quinn solves this by saying they won't give them the disk till he is away. The judge gets in the car and Wade gives them the disk. Letting America's true values be lost to time. It is a sad sad day. The sliders say goodbye to the judge and Wade tells him things are as hopeless as they look. with that the sliders jump into the vortex, leaving this world behind. The next day, on that world in the computer store a few people find a file Wade left on the computer. It is the constitution and it quickly spread around the world. Wade saved the day! Welcome to the episode written by the co-host of Children of Tendu, http://childrenoftendu.libsyn.com/ , Jose Molina. If you want to work in TV you should check that podcast out. It is really good and they give you tons of information about the art of written for the small screen.
The start of the episode kicks off in Russia where we learn the origins of the Black Widow program. Dottie Underwood is one of these girls. Jarvis tries to talk Carter into going back to help Howard who she wants no part of. He points out how none of her co-workers like her or respect her. She says she will make them. She gets back to the office and everyone is trying to figure out how to decode a message written in code. The professional decoder couldn't figure it out and Carter walks in and does it in no time flat. Proving her worth, but Thompson doesn't want to give her any props. She puts herself on the mission. Thompson tries to get Carter kicked off the team but she proves that she knows more about war than he does. She has been through world war 2, none of them have. She tells them she can 107th Regiment to lead the team. Now the 107th for those of you at home is what the MCU calls Howling Commandos. She gets them to agree to let her on the time. Thompson sends Sousa to get something out of his locker, in a mean trick to get him to see Carter undressed. It works but has an added side-effect. He sees a mark on her back, the same one that the blonde has in the picture. He now suspects her. On the plane before the jump Carter tries to clam Thompson down but he doesn't want to take her help. She is a lot cooler under pressure than he is. They run into Dum Dum and the rest of the Howling Commandos who right away they put Thompson in his place and elevate Carter above the rest of them. The team that Thompson and co respect above all others respect Carter above all others. That doesn't sit well with them, as well it shouldn't. It should show them her worth. While everyone is chilling around the fire they ask Thompson about the Navy cross. He tells them he fell asleep on duty and wakes up to the Japanese sneaked into camp and he woke up just in time to kill them all before they could kill his CO. Back in the States, Sousa looks into Carter and the blonde lady while the chief is looking into more information on the battle and Stark. The reporter he talks to tells him that it is a railroad against Stark but the chief doesn't want to believe it. Thompson gives orders but the Howling Commandos ask Carter what she wants to do and she changes the orders. Thompson agrees but you can tell he isn't happy about it. Carter and her team get in and we see that they are in the school from the beginning. The one that trains Black Widows. A little girl crying draws them into another room where a lone girl sits crying. She stabs Dum Dum before taking off and hiding in a hole in the wall. He is fine, lucky his vest saved him. One of the team did die in her escape. Sad day for the Howling Commandos. Carter takes charge. The chief comes to talk to Jarvis. The chief tells him that Howard has a lot of people after him, including an Army General. The chief says that he doesn't want to be part of a witch hunt. He wants to hear the truth and he gives Jarvis a phone number to call to get a hold of him. Carter and co find people in a cell and free them. Meanwhile back in the states, this eras Black widow breaks into Carter's room and starts going through her stuff. She finds some pictures of Stark's weapons, one of which she takes. The team start asking questions of the men in the cells, turns out one of them is an engineer. They are trying to make the man build Stark's weapon. It turns out that Howard is not here, just plans for his weapons. They misunderstood. They get the prisoners out of the cage and run as the Russians move in on them. The engineer tries to sell out the Americans and his co-prisoner tries to talk him out of it before Carter just shoots him. Thompson freezes up and Carter has to keep them all alive while they wait for Dum Dum to show up and give them an exit. Carter has to all but drag Thompson out who had a breakdown on the battlefield. The man who told Carter she couldn't handle war proved he was the one who couldn't handle it. The team escapes, Carter is the last one on board because she wanted to make sure everyone else made it safe. She is a hero. The Howling Commandos invite Carter to join them, they would call her Lady Union Jack. Now Union Jack is a Marvel hero named Joseph Chapman. She tells them that she has to go back home and prove to everyone that Stark is innocent. It seems she is back on the case. Thompson tells Carter the truth, the Japanese didn't try to kill his CO, they came to surrender but he didn't listen and buried the white flag to hide the truth. Carter comforts him. Dottie still sleeps handcuffed to a bed. Showing us that she is one of the little girls from the start of the episode. Thompson gives Carter her props and she gives Thompson some props that he didn't deserve. The man they brought back to the states has agreed to help them with whatever they need. For the first time ever Carter is invited out with the guys. Sousa stays behind, he has too much on his mind. He doesn't want to believe Carter is the blonde. Such a great show!!!! Season 2 of the greatest sci-fi shoots back with a bang in this episode written by Tracy Torme. Now the last season ended with Quinn getting shot just before they jumped through the vortex, with an added member no less. This episode starts with everyone standing around Quinn's tombstone, Wade kissing the man she saved.
Lucky it is all a dream. It seems that Quinn is fine. He was out more or less for 3 days. They got the bullet out of him. The man who slide with them is the one who saved Quinn's life and asked Wade to stay. She said no and he took off. The vortex opens and they slide. A weird hick laughs at them. He was in Quinn's dream. Could this mean something? Quinn may be doing better but he is still in pain. Remy looks for a hospital but all he can seem to find are sorcerers. A weird turn for Sliders, taking a mystic turn and leaving the sci-fi behind. It was a risky move but one that I think was smart. It shows the audience that this show can go almost anywhere and still make sense following their own rules. Torme proves himself to be a great writer once again. A sorcerer attempts to do a spell on Quinn to help him and Arturo is not happy. He tries to storm in to help Quinn but the deed is done. The sorcerer tells them he can't do anything about the bullet but he only could get rid of the headache. The bill is way to high for any of them to pay. The sliders run out on the bill. He swears to put a curse on them. The sliders are relaxing in the hotel room when Remy let's out a scream. There is a honest to god skeleton taking up shelter in there. I mean it isn't a life or anything but it is still weird. Some one sneaks up towards the room. Arturo opens the door allowing what looks like a grim reaper to enter the room. He points towards Quinn and gives him a summons. He is being sued. The sorcerer doesn't want to be paid anymore, he now wants Quinn's brain to pay the bill. The lawyer they got isn't giving them much hope. It seems that demon bounty hunters are on the hunt for him now. The sliders are in deep trouble. They need to find The Sorcerer! OK so to differentiate between the two we will call the man who is after Quinn the wizard now on. The sliders go to meet a card reader and she tells them that they need the sorcerer because he has the power to slide between worlds and can send them home. Could this be what they have been looking for? Could their journey be coming to an end? Our favorite cab driver from all the different dimensions drive the sliders to the sorcerer's house. They have to cross over a tiny bridge, it is the only way to the house. Remy is scared out of his mind where as Quinn seems to have more energy than he has had in a while. At least until he almost falls, that changes everything. It turns out that the missing part of the bridge is just a trick to make people think that there is nothing there but it really is. They make it across just fine. They make it inside the house and it is huge. Beyond big. The gang is left waiting to meet the sorcerer. Arturo can't stand this world or the views of its people. The hick's double tells them that they have to leave. The sorcerer has no time for them. He orders them to removed from the house but Quinn yells out that they are sliders and a voice demands to see them. The slider's are lead to the sorcerer himself. The sorcerer shows up as a giant hologram talking to the Sliders. It is all right out of Oz. He tells them that he is the master of the vortexs and can send them home if they prove to be friends. In exchange for helping them he demands they steal from the wizard for him. Arturo wants no part of it, he wants no part of any of this. He wants to spend the next 11 hours till the slide to hide. A bounty hunter captures them, not just any bounty hunter but one played by the great actor Phil Fondacaro in his first role on the show. He takes them back to the wizard. They manage to escape and find plans for a sliding machine. This is what the sorcerer wanted them to steal. Remy knocks out the wizard as they escape once again. They take the plans back to the sorcerer. The sorcerer sends them away after taking the plans but Quinn takes them back and goes running to the office while the others stop the aid. The guards storm into the room with Quinn and the hologram. Quinn runs and finds a room with one of his doubles running the machine. This episode is very much wizard of oz. The first of many episodes that parodies movies. Some are better than others. This one is very good. The sorcerer finds out that his aid sold his plans and has double crossed him. He has him sent out. The sliders meet with the sorcerer as he works on the timer. The sorcerer is in fact a slider, he slides to other worlds and buys goods to bring back to this world. It seems that the wizard wants the tech so that he can steal the market share. This Quinn wants to live his life for himself now just like our Quinn. The last act he wants to do for others is helping them home. This Quinn finishes his work on the timer and gives it back to the sliders. They open the vortex and jump through saying goodbye to the sorcerer. The sliders end up outside Quinn's house. Are they home? To the fence to decide! They only have 53 seconds to decide. All the stuff that has happened in the last few months and the fact that the fence doesn't make a sound convinces them that it is the wrong world. They open the vortex and slide off world. No sooner does the vortex close when Quinn's mom walks out with the gardener who tells her that he fixed the gate so that it won't make a sound anymore. It turns out that our heroes were home and slide away all because the damn gardener had to go and fix the gate. Now that is great story telling. Letting your heroes get so close to the finish line and pulling out the rug from them. It let's you think that an ending is possible. They can make it home. They just need to do it one more time Just one more reason I love this show so much!!!! Season 1 comes to an end in this episode penned by Jon Povill all about the evils of the lottery. The sliders land on a new world and right away find a cute little dog that Wade takes around town. She also starts a diary about what it is happening. Everyone on this world seems happy and everything is cheap. Arturo drops his wallet and some kid just runs up and returns it to him. They have ATMs that give you how ever much money you want. Arturo warns them to be careful, they only have 3 days here and they don't know all the rules. Remy take 5 grand, Arturo take $5 and Wade takes a grand. Two guys watching on talk about how brave they are. Makes you wonder what the catch for the money is.
This world even has public cars that anyone can take and drive. What a crazy world that just loves its people. The Sliders need to open their eyes and see that this world is far too good to be true. Something is wrong and they just looked a little harder they would see it. It seems that on this world there is only 500 million people. Quinn and Wade go horse back riding while Arturo and Remy go fishing. Quinn hits his head and falls hard. It seems that his and Wade's relationship is on a bit of a break. He wants to move forward but she doesn't. I feel like I missed something. She starts telling Quinn that she wants to stay on this world, it is better than being stuck on some hell world down the line. Quinn doesn't agree and it causes a rift between them. That night they eat the fish Remy and Arturo caught. Wade won the lottery. She gets the white card, it means that anyone has to give her anything she wants. It all seems too good to be true. And normally things that seem to good to be true are too good to be true. Quinn is the only one who seems to think about this. Wade is thinking about staying here and Quinn couldn't be more upset. She wants him to be happy for her but he just can't seem to bring himself to feeling that way. Remy started dating another winner. She says that security is so tight in case the right to lifers give them any problems. I like how none of them find it weird that they would attack here. Another winner Remy's date tells him she wants to spend the rest of her life with him, he seems weirded out by it and who can blame him. The right to lifers stop Quinn and give him a flyer, whatever it says makes him rush to Wade's side. Remy's date wants to have sex on the dance floor. I like how he gets lucky on every world. That man is a player. The two of them sneak away. Wade and her new date are really hitting it off. Arturo is starting to find out what the lottery winners really win. Quinn can't get in because Arturo is Wade's date. Quinn tells Arturo that winning is population control. They kill the winners. They inform Remy and Wade. They can't sneak Wade out of here and Quinn is jealous of her new date. Remy wants to bring his new date with them. Quinn and Arturo explain to him how adding more people to the vortex drains the power more and more and it might make it so that none of them can make it through. Arturo and Quinn argue about the merits of what this world does. Arturo says he doesn't agree with what they do as a man but as a scientist he thinks that it is far more humane than their own world. Remy tells his date he wants a future with her and she thinks he means to die with her. He tells her everything and she seems like she wants to go along with it. No one has seen or heard from Wade. Wade is with her date and she tells him the truth as well. Is everyone telling everyone about sliding? She tells him she doesn't want to die. It turns out if you try to cheat the lottery they will make you feel pain before killing you. She invites her date on the slide as well. He walks off. I like how they told Remy he is pushing it but Wade just invites more people. Remy shows up at his dates room and gets arrested. She turned him in. That is why you don't trust people, they just turn on you for money. Quinn and Arturo start to get worried about what is taking everyone so long. Quinn goes to find them. Remy's date kills herself right in front of him. He is then pulled away. He is going to be put to death in a very painful way. Wade tells Arturo they need to walk the dog so they can talk without being over heard. They spot Remy getting arrested. Quinn and Arturo go to find Remy and give Wade the timer. Telling her to slide if they don't make it back in time otherwise she will be killed. Protestors stop the prison van that is holding Remy. It gives Quinn and Arturo a chance to catch up with him. Quinn turns the mob against the police and gets them to help him save Remy. Remy is freed and the 3 guys rush back to find Wade who is hiding out in ballroom with the dog she found that keeps barking. They catch Wade but the other winner saves her. The other sliders get there just as the timer gets to zero. They have to go now. The vortex opens and they bring Wade's new friend with them. They all make it to the new world but Quinn has been shot and fall down. The episode and the season end with Wade screaming no over his motionless body. Is that the way to end a season or what? How could anyone not love this show? So like with Firefly and Sliders Fox aired some of this show out of order as well. Episode 5 has to go before episode 4 because in episode 4 we know who Lilith is and we meet her for the first time in episode 5. This episode was written by Adam Armus & Nora Kay Foster.
We start on a ship full of guys who throw another person down into the lower decks to be eaten by something that is not human. Herc, Iolaus and Jason are enjoying their lunch when they see a girl enter the academy. Jason and Iolaus start to fight over her, it is almost as if a girl has never been in the academy before but in the movie that started this series they had a girl join, Yvenna. Iolaus knocks out the man who was supposed to find a new cook and so Cheiron sends the 3 friends to Athens to go find them one. Iolaus talks the guys into hiring a boat because it will get them there and back faster. Iolaus gets them jobs working the deck of a boat where they are ordered to avoid the cargo hold. Something dangerous is in there and Iolaus wants to find out what. He always gets the others into trouble, it is almost his duty. While everyone else is sleeping he steals the keys to the cargo hold and opens it. Herc wakes up just in time and wakes Jason up as well so they can stop him. Too late, Iolaus opens it and it sets off an alarm that wakes everyone up. I like how the whole crew was sleeping during the day. Now Iolaus, Jason and Herc have to fight the rest of the crew who wants their heads. The three friends end up in cargo hold and get locked in by the crew. It seems that they will finally find out what is down there. It seems the crew has a group of Amazons prisoner down there. The Amazons tell them that they don't hurt boys and that is why they haven't done anything to them. Their leader, Cyane tells them they are taking over the ship. She tells them she is in charge and Hercules points out that without them they can't do anything. They come to an uneasy truce. Cyane tells Hercules that they don't hate men, they just live without them. This is the Telaquire tribe and that there are 12 tribes in all. They hate Centaurs because of the great war. She also tells Hercules that Zeus is the one who tricked her people into becoming slaves. He doesn't want to believe it. They ready their attack just as the people above spot land. Iolaus tries to trick the people above but they spot him and pull him out. Hercules uses this moment to lead the Amazons out of the hold and into battle. It isn't long before they take the ship. Hercules saving Cyane's life at the last minute, before the two of them team up to take out the captain. They get off the ship and go their own ways but not before Iolaus messes up a kiss between Cyane and Hercules. This whole adventure teaches the 3 of them an important lesion that woman can be just as great a warrior as any man. Something they all needed to learn. Season 1 of Buffy is over but it is not yet time for season 2 of Buffy. In the meantime we have the events of Europe to deal with. In particular the reason that Spike and Drusilla show up in Sunnydale this season. Written by Drew Goddard himself. A great writer for such an important story.
This book tells the story of Prague and what happened to Drusilla that made the two of them flee to Sunnydale to try and help her. In this story she is captured and Spike is beaten and almost staked before being thrown off a bridge. He wakes up to find that Dru is gone. She wakes up tied to a chair that slowly puts spikes into her arms and legs. It is a device that is made to cause pain for vampires that they won't forget or get past. It is made so that the pain will stick with them for all time. Meanwhile elsewhere Spike fights his way through the mad doctor's men. Trying to find out how much information as he can to lead him to Dru so he can save her. The pain is driving her crazy, not hard since it is Dru and Angel made her crazy long ago. The mad doctor thinks that he may have pushed Dru too far so he gets ready to stake her but this is when Spike crashes in and saves her while killing the doctor. Dru is badly hurt and their only hope is in Sunnydale. Spike looks forward to killing his third slayer. This is a great story that sets up all of season 2. On top of that it is written by Drew Goddard, what could be better? Read it now! |
