Deadpool! What else do I need to say about this film? I mean really, it was beyond good. I felt going in that it would be ok, I mean the trailers looked awesome but Fox's X-Men movies haven't hit the mark for me. They seemed to run away from the comic books instead of embracing them.
Everyone kept telling me that this one embraced the hell out of the comics but I was guarded. I didn't want to be burned. Almost as soon as it started I felt awe. The opening credits didn't really name anyone, just made fun of the people who worked on the film. It had me cracking up.
Reynolds killed it, you can see his love for the character and the film in every scene.
It really feels like a film made by people who care and who love the character, where the other X-Men's films feel like they are made by flipping through comic books and pointing at random characters. Or people reading the Wiki page and lacking any depth.
I'd put it as one of the 6 best comic book movies of all time. And the best part is that Cable is going to be in part 2 and that is the coolest news I've ever heard!!! Go see Deadpool! Fox did good!
