The greatest sci-fi show ever made is on the verge of returning. Jerry O'Connell who played Quinn Mallory on the show said that he would be open to returning as long as Tracy Torme was returning as well. The co-creator. Sliders was a show about a kid who made a device to travel to other worlds and got stuck, drifting from world to world.
It was one of the most thought provoking shows of its time and spawned a number of loyal fans who never gave up on the show despite changing everything about itself from the cast to the writers to the channel it was on. If it were to return and go back to its roots it could find a home amongst those who never let the spirit of the show fade away. In a world where everything is being rebooted and done over, let Sliders get the chance that so many less worthy shows have gotten.

This won't be popular, but I just saw Mark Hamill talk about how Star Wars VII is just like the Transformers movies. All fluff but no story. No character work. Just CGI and quick set changes. Now this is how I have felt about that movie since I saw it but everyone has been against me. The fact that Mark Hamill, Luke Skywalker himself agrees with me makes me beyond happy. See his words for himself. So the Governator himself just told the world that yet another Terminator movie is on the way! That is great news. The last one was great, I mean it broke the first rule that the original gave us, you can't move forward in time but to be fair the TV show broke that rule first.
It was a fun ride that felt like the first two way more than 3 and 4 ever did. More than even the TV show did. It is easily the 3rd best entry into the franchise and I can't wait to see what they do for a part 6. It could breath new life into and make it something that we can all love and appreciate. Season 2 of Daredevil was just as good as season 1! Something that I would not have thought possible. Now don't think that this is a review, it isn't. It's just me taking a few minutes to talk about how much I love that show and how everyone should check it out! But the real news is that Marvel has put out the teaser for Luke Cage!
Today is the greatest day ever. Season 2 of Marvel's Daredevil hits the internet like the EMP hit the city in Dark Angel. It changed the world for everyone. Maybe that's me putting a little too much hype into this show but I just rewatched season 1 and it is even better than I recalled. Jessica Jones was just as good so why should we expect Season 2 to be any less amazing.
This season we have Punisher and Elektra. I mean if Daredevil wasn't enough adding Elektra to the mix would make it a million times better. But these people went and went a step farther, they threw in Punisher. Frank Castle, do you have any ideas how amazing that is? We have a TV show with a live action Frank Castle. This is truly the golden age of Comic Books and TV. So whatever you have to do today, stop! Go now to Netflix and watch Season 2 of Daredevil! It seems that Charlie Cox is not just an amazing actor but also an avid comic book fan. He knows how the character fits into the comic book universe and even was slick enough to drop a few Daredevil/Black Widow jokes. Something that any fan, any real fan of DD would get. After all the two have a very on again off again relationship. To the point where they even shared the title of a book for a while. Now Daredevil were to show up in the movies would he fit in? After all the show is very dark and gritty while the movies are very light and fun. Yes they would fit! Arrow is a dark show while the Flash is light and fun but those crossovers rock!
Mat has always been the guy who is so into his own thing that he never cares about the big events or what the "big guns" are doing. He cares about his city and making sure that it is cleaned up and made safer for the people who live there. Charlie Cox even commented on DD fitting in with the movies "Some people have said that they wonder about, based on the tone the show, how Matt would fit in with the Avengers," Cox said. "I was reading Civil War the other day, and Matt Murdock... is kind of an ass. He's in the back, standing around grumpy a lot of the time, and every now and again, he just says ‘Well, we're not doing that' or something to that effect, and I'm like, ‘That's the character, we're fine.' So tonally, with Matt I think we’re right on point and he’d be a perfect fit in the larger MCU." Cox isn't the only TV actor to talk about taking part in the larger movie universe, Krysten Ritter also spoke on the subject. "That's an interesting question because I love Jessica and I love any opportunity to play her. Obviously, it'd be really exciting to be a part of those giant, huge movies with those great characters who are already established, so it'd be awesome. … It'd be awesome if I got to pop up somewhere else. There's always the chance that could happen. I don't really know, they don't tell me anything, so I'm totally stoked about the playground on Netflix." I think that would be an amazing opportunity for Marvel. So far the universe has been very one sided, with the movies changing the landscape for the shows but the shows having no effect on the big movies. It would be nice to have it go both ways. I'm really hoping for some reference to the Inhumans on Captain America Civil War, it would only make sense. Marvel could change the face of entertainment for good if they connect their movies and shows just a bit more. Come on Marvel, give us one solid universe! Both of those quotes were given to Comicbook.com an amazing website that gives you the latest news on everything to do with, well comic books! So Disney just announced that they are coming out with an Indiana Jones 5! Harris Ford is coming back as is Steven Spielberg! The old gang is back together again and fans around the world couldn't be more excited. A lot of people wondered when this would happen after Disney bought Lucasfilm a few years back.
Crystal Skull was not well received in the box office or with fans so there was a fear that it would keep the series from returning but it seems those fears were in vain. Disney would never let money escape their grasp. Hopefully this movie will get us back to the feelings of old that the first three movies had. The thrilling adventure and excitement that only Indie can bring us. The only downside to this story is that the movie isn't due out till 2019, three whole years from now. But we will be counting down the days! Everyone always fights over who is the best Batman; Adam West, Michael Keaton, Val Kilmer, George Clooney, Christian Bale or Ben Affleck? The other question everyone asks is Who is the best joker; Cesar Romero, Jack Nicholson, Heath Ledger or Jared Leto? The answer to both of these questions are none of the above. The best Batman is the one and only Kevin Conroy! While the best Joker is Luke Skywalker himelf, Mark Hamill. The animated series is the greatest version of Batman that we have ever had. Bar none! And now both men are returning for one of the most anticipated adaptations ever! The Killing Joke! Mark Hamill told the world by tweeting the above picture three times, each time with one word of the title and a quote from the graphic novel. What a cool way to let the world know about such a cool development! I can't wait for this movie. It is going to be epic!
The comic book, cartoon and live action series that Ben Edlund brought to us is coming back! This time for amazon, once more at the hands of Edlund. This is exciting news for the fans of the old series. Not much is known about the new show yet, other than that Edlund is returning and the Amazon has ordered a pilot for the new show. Hopefully it gets picked up and we get to see more of the goofy action that we have come to love.
Now is a great time to be a fan of Marvel comics. They have 12 live action shows that are either on the air or about to be. One of them is a mystery show. What could it be? What would we want it to be?
Now if it is on Netflix, Blade, Moon Knight or Ghost Rider would be my top picks. I mean finally a Ghost Rider done right would be amazing. It is something that needs to happen. Those movies did not live up to the promise they had. Ghost Rider is a great character who could add a whole new wing to the MCU, one that Iron Fist and Dr. Strange are slowly introducing us too. Now if it is Moon Knight that could be awesome too, it would also be a great addition to the supernatural world but also fit in nicely with the dark gritty street fighting world that the other Netflix shows fit into. He could play both sides of the street and not many fans know anything about him so Marvel could have a great deal of fun with it. Now Blade, wow all three of these fit the Supernatural side of things, which is the part that Marvel is starting to build. Now there was already a Blade TV show and it was a really good show that was robbed of a second season. So this new Blade show would have a lot to live up to. Now there is talk about it following his newly created daughter, which would be a cool twist. Something new, that hasn't been explored in the show or old movies. It would be a fresh take and that is exciting. |
